About Glitter's stores and concept
Glitter's founder, Sven-Axel Svensson, originally opened a small tobacco shop back in the 70s in Söderköbing, Sweden. However, he spotted the opportunity to start a ‘bijouteri’ wholesale business, and 1992 saw the opening of his first Glitter jewellery store.
Today, Glitter's stores are owned by the Swedish group Bergendahl&Son AB, which is operated and owned by the Bergendahl-Mylonopoulos family. This means that Glitter is still a family business, with almost 200 stores across four countries.
