New expressions through redesign

Materials that already exist, form the starting point for much of what we do at Re:wair Studio in Frederiksberg Shopping Mall. We alter, adapt and process them so they gain new functions and expressions suited to their next chapter. The result is products that feel personal, unique and far more present than mass-produced alternatives.

As you explore our styles, you will often notice subtle traces of the materials’ previous lives – a structure, a seam, a nuance. This is part of the story we choose to preserve, as it gives the craftsmanship character and honesty. Our goal is to create usable, durable and beautiful products without starting over with new resources.

Shop collective and creative workshop

Re:wair Studio functions as both a shop and a shared workspace. We are a shop collective and workshop environment where we present products, share knowledge and develop our work together. Here, you will see styles displayed alongside materials, sketches and small glimpses of the creative process that show how ideas become reality. Not everything is created directly in the studio, but this is where we gather inspiration, explore materials and further develop our projects.

The studio is also a place where you can take part in the process yourself. We host ongoing workshops where you can try your hand at upcycling, repair and creative techniques – and create your own products from materials that already exist. Working directly with the textiles and experiencing how something used can gain new life through your own ideas is a truly special experience.

Community and collaboration

Community is central to us. As designers, we work side by side and develop new possibilities together. We come from different backgrounds and traditions, but our approach to materials and craftsmanship connects us. This gives the studio a distinct warmth that you can clearly feel when you step inside.

We share ideas, explore techniques and allow materials to move between hands and perspectives. This gives both the processes and the products a special energy. Re:wair Studio is a place where collaboration, inspiration and curiosity go hand in hand, and this is something we are happy to share with you when you visit us.

We work for a more sustainable textile future

Re:wair Studio is run by the association Re:wair and 16 upcycling brands/designers who work to extend the life of textiles and reduce waste. This mindset is visible in every product in the studio – clothing and accessories created from materials that already exist. It demonstrates how new possibilities can emerge when you start with what is already there.

We aim to inspire everyday choices where clothing does not have to be new to feel new. By showing the materials, the craftsmanship and the process, we hope to open up more ways of thinking about consumption, clothing and design. For us, sustainability is not a trend, but a practical and creative approach to our work.

Opening hours and location

You will find Re:wair Studio on Level 3 in Frederiksberg Shopping Mall – next to Hummel and opposite Børnenes Illums Bolighus. The shop is open to anyone who would like to stop by and be inspired by clothing and products created through upcycling and redesign. You are always welcome to come in and take a closer look at the materials and the work behind them.
